John Adams "Jack"  Steadman


Steadman, John ( Jack) Adams - July 9th, 1929 to September 19th, 2015. Jack passed away at home with his family by his side. Jack will be missed by his highschool sweetheart and wife Dorothy of 67 years. Dear father of Janis (David) Green of Belleville and predeceased by his son John Steadman , and survived by his daughter-in law Wanda Steadman (Jenny and Shawn, and Cory) of Bayfield . Grandfather to Chris (Katie) Green, Susan (Donny) Alexander, and great grandfather of Jacob and Nicholas Green in Foxboro, and Connor and Cameron Alexander in Madoc. Dear brother of Lynne (Roy ) Price of Bayfield. Predeceased by his sister Janet and brother Tom. Jack will also be missed by many nieces and nephews who adored him. He will also be missed by longtime friends Charlie and Barb Thorpe. Jack enjoyed spending time at their cottage in Bayfield. He loved playing on the beach and teaching young ones to swim. Jack started his career in London as a Lineman for Bell Canada in 1951. Jack and his family were transferred to Belleville in 1963 where he took a management position with Bell Canada, retiring in 1983. He was a Mason with St John’s Lodge 209A in London, and a Worthy Patron in Eastern Star at Minerva Chapter 138. Arrangements in the care of the John R. Bush Funeral Home, 80 Highland Avenue, Belleville (613-968-5588) A celebration of Jack’s life will be held at a later date in Bayfield.
